Anyone had luck with oral BPC for a stubborn Achilles tendinopathy?

I've been dealing with low grade Achilles pain on and off for like 8 months now, the usual story, tweaked it running, kept training on it, then it just kind of settled in as this chronic achy thing that flares whenever I ramp up mileage. I've done the boring stuff, heel drops, calf eccentrics, reduced volume, no real change in the last 3 months.

I keep seeing people talk about BPC for tendons and most of it is about pinning it subq near the injury. But honestly I'm not super keen on injecting near my Achilles every day, and I've been reading about the oral arginate salt form on here and how it still gets some systemic healing effect through VEGF upregulation even though it's not as potent as the injectable.

Has anyone actually had oral BPC do anything for a tendon issue that was this far gone? I'm not expecting a miracle, I just wanna know if it's even worth running for 6 to 8 weeks alongside my rehab or if tendons that aren't getting direct local exposure basically just shrug it off.

  • tiredmira: Honestly for an 8 month tendinopathy, the loading protocol is doing way more work than any peptide will. Eccentrics only get you so far, you probably need heavy slow resistance and some isometrics in there too. I had a similar nagging Achilles thing last year, took around 4 months of consistent heavy calf work before it actually calmed down. No peptide involved on that one. On oral BPC specifically, I tried the arginate form for 6 weeks on a different tendon issue. Subjectively felt like recov
  • andre_rows: Yeah the heavy slow resistance angle is fair, I've been kinda doing the same eccentrics and calling it done but maybe I'm not pushing hard enough or long enough. The 4 months timeline is deflating though ngl, I was hoping peptides would accelerate that window a bit. On your ultrasound though, that's the kind of data I actually want to see. You're saying you felt better but nothing visible changed even 2 weeks post? That makes me wonder if it's doing anything structural or just masking pain sign
  • curious_paddles: Sound post. I actually wonder if thats the whole story with oral BPC for tendons, feels nice in the moment but the structural healing is just the loading doing its thing and the peptide is maybe just helping you stick to the programme. Curious did you keep the heavy calf work going after you stopped the oral BPC or did you taper off?
  • andre_rows: Yeah that's a fair point honestly, I've been going back and forth on that too, like am I even isolating the peptide from just doing the heel drops every day. I kept the eccentric calf work going the whole 8 months, never really stopped, even when I was doing the oral BPC I was still doing 3 sets of 15 twice a day on a step. I didn't taper off the loading at all actually, I just kept it consistent throughout. Which kinda makes your point land harder, maybe the peptide was just making my ankle fe
