6 weeks on retatrutide, my CGM and scale finally agree with each other

Okay so I have been sitting on retatrutide for about 6 weeks now and the weirdest thing just happened. My CGM glucose curve and my weekly scale trend finally started matching up. Like actually matching, not the usual "scale says something, CGM says something else" situation I had on tirz last year π
Quick rundown of what changed for me. Fasting glucose dropped from around 102 to 91 over the 6 weeks. Post-meal spikes are smaller and come down faster. Resting HR is down about 4 bpm. And I am down roughly 6.5 pounds, which honestly felt slow week to week but the trend line is clean.
Appetite suppression feels different than tirz to me. Less "I forgot to eat" and more "I eat because it is time, not because I am hungry." The food noise is quieter in the evenings especially.
Side effects were rough the first 2 weeks, nausea after bigger meals mostly. Settled down once I moved doses to bedtime.
Curious if anyone else is tracking CGM alongside retat and what your glucose trend looked like early on. Was the drop gradual for you too or sudden?

- peptidehead_rational: I am not on retat personally, mostly just follow the threads and read what i can. The fasting glucose drop from 102 to 91 over 6 weeks is interesting to me because that range overlaps with what ive seen in the tirzepatide literature too, so im curious how much is the drug vs the weight loss itself doing the work. The appetite description matches what ive heard from a couple people on it, less of the empty stomach feeling and more of just not caring about food. That lines up with the proposed me
- tiredmira: Fair question honestly. I was on tirz for almost a year before switching, and my fasting glucose on tirz only got to like 96 at my lowest. So the drop to 91 on reta feels like a real step past what weight loss alone was doing for me. Could still partly be the weight though, I won't pretend I can separate those two cleanly π
- scientist_daily: For what it is worth thats the right question to be asking and honestly its really hard to disentangle those two things at 6 weeks. The weight loss itself improves insulin sensitivity pretty quickly so yeah some of that glucose drop could just be from the lower body weight kicking in. Hard to say how much is the retat hitting those glucagon receptors specifically vs just the metabolic improvement from losing fat. Youd probably need a longer timeline or a more controlled setup to really separate
- tiredmira: Yeah that tracks with how I have been thinking about it honestly. I basically knew I couldnt fully separate the two at 6 weeks but I wanted to see if anyone had a take on when the metabolic improvement from weight loss usually starts showing up vs the receptor effects. I am gonna keep pulling the CGM data and the scale weekly and see if the glucose numbers keep moving even when the weight stalls for a bit. That feels like the easiest way to at least get a hint, even if it is not a real controll
