FGL peptide vs selank for anxiety, anyone tried both?

Been digging into the cognitive side of things for a few months now and i'm fixin' to narrow down my next experiment. Semax is great for the focus side, no question, but the anxiety piece is where i keep getting stuck. Some days i feel wired but not in a good way 😎

I'm weighing selank against FGL right now. Selank seems to have more chatter around it, and people talk about the GABA calming effect like it's pretty reliable. But FGL caught my eye bc it works through that FGFR pathway for synaptic plasticity, so in theory it could help with mood over time instead of just calming you down in the moment.

Has anyone here actually run both and can speak to how they compare? Like did selank feel more like an acute chill-out, while FGL was slower but built up? Curious if FGL did anything noticeable for memory or just felt neutral. Also how long did you run it before you decided it was or wasn't doing something for you?

  • megan_t: Not gonna lie i only ran selank and not FGL so take this with a grain of salt. For me selank was pretty immediate, the nasal spray would settle me within like 15-20 min and id get this quiet calm without feeling foggy. I ran it for about 3 weeks at 250mcg a day split into two doses and honestly the worst part was stopping, the rebound anxiety was no joke for me, gave me a rough few days after. The plasticity angle on FGL is what has me curious too but i havent pulled the trigger. What dose were
  • rows_nomad: Lol that rebound thing on selank is exactly what im trying to avoid, i hate when a compound has a price to pay later. 15-20 min onset sounds about right tho, heard similar from a few others 🧠 For FGL i was thinkin 100mcg a day to start, maybe split am and early afternoon, then reassess after 4-5 weeks. Some of the papers i skimmed used higher but id rather start low and see if anything actually moves the needle. Did you taper off selank or just quit cold turkey?
  • practical_tinkerer: Honestly the rebound thing you mentioned is the part that scares me most about selank too, i've read enough threads where the taper matters a lot. For FGL i was thinking 100-200mcg range based on the writeups i've seen but i'm honestly not sold yet, the studies i'm finding are mostly in vitro or animal models so the real world dose math is kinda hand-wavy to me. Did your selank dose feel effective the whole three weeks or did you notice it kinda fading?
  • rows_nomad: Yeah the second week was def where i noticed it fading, first week felt like a pretty solid calm without the fog but by week 3 it was more like a subtle background thing, not the same noticeable shift. I cycled off for two weeks before i tried anything else though so i can't say for sure if it was true rebound or just my anxiety coming back. For FGL the dose math being hand-wavy is exactly what's holding me back too, jumping from animal models to humans is a big leap 🧠
