Question about mazdutide dosing math for someone new to weekly peptides

Hey all, I'm just starting to read about mazdutide and trying to wrap my head around the basics before I go any further. The profile says 3 to 9 mg once a week, which sounds straightforward until you actually try to figure out how to draw that up.
If the vial is 5 mg and you add 2 mL of bacteriostatic water, does that mean 1 mg per 0.4 mL on the syringe? And then 6 mg would be 2.4 mL. Is my math right or am I missing something obvious?
Also, how do people usually titrate up on this stuff? Do most folks start at the low end for a few weeks, or do some just begin at 3 mg and stay there? I want to be conservative since I get nausea pretty easily with most medications.
And honestly, how do you know if the side effects you're getting are the normal kind that settle down versus something that means you should stop? That's the part that makes me nervous about starting anything new.

- patient_mito: Your math seems correct for those specific numbers, but it is a lot of liquid to draw up if you are looking at higher doses. I usually try to use more water in my vials so the volume I have to inject is smaller and easier to manage. Since you mentioned being prone to nausea, starting at the absolute lowest amount is probably the smartest move. I have found that jumping into a middle dose too quickly can be quite unpleasant for my stomach. It is hard to know for sure without a doctor, but if yo
- nomad_nerdy: About reconstituting with more water, I hadn't really thought about it that way. I was just going off what the calculator spit out. The nausea thing is exactly why I want to go low and slow. Did you find it got better after a few weeks, or did it kind of stick around the whole time? That's what I'm really trying to figure out before I commit.
- tiredmira: Yeah the dilution thing is underrated honestly. I reconstitute mine with more bac water too, way easier on the hands when you're drawing up 😅 And yeah start low, for sure. My first few weeks at a too-high dose were rough, nausea was no joke. Titrating slowly made a big difference for me.
- nomad_nerdy: Thanks for confirming the slow start. I figured that was the move but it helps hearing it from someone who went through the rough patch first. Out of curiosity, how many weeks did you stay at the low dose before bumping up, and what was your first increase? I'm trying to set realistic expectations since I'm pretty nausea-prone and would rather take my time with it.
