TA1 injection site redness – what’s normal and when to worry

I started trying TA1 a few weeks ago after reading about its immune support role, mostly because I’ve been feeling run down after back‑to‑back CrossFit cycles. 6 mg twice a week subQ in my abdomen. The first couple of shots gave me a small red spot that faded in a day, which I brushed off as normal irritation.
Last week though the redness stayed a bit longer and felt warm to the touch, and I noticed a low‑grade headache and mild fatigue the next morning. I wondered if that’s just the transient flu‑like symptom listed in the description or if I’m reacting to something else. I’ve kept the injection sites clean, rotated spots, and used a fresh needle each time.
For me it seems like the discomfort is tied to the dose timing – when I space the shots farther apart the reaction is milder. I’m planning to get a basic blood panel soon just to check liver and lipids, though TA1 isn’t known to stress those.

- calm_trains: Local irritation that lasts longer with bigger doses is honestly pretty common with subQ injections in general, not just TA1. Warmth plus a dull headache the next day sounds more like a mild systemic response than a true allergic thing, but I am not your doctor so take that with a grain of salt. A few things I would wonder about. How deep are you going? Some people shallow up and swear it stings less. And is the redness a flat flush or a raised bump? Raised and itchy would make me more suspicio
- retired_cooks: Yeah, what calm_trains said about the flat flush versus raised bump is basically the first thing i'd ask too. A raised itchy wheal points more toward histamine release, which TA1 can do at higher doses, while a flat warm patch is usually just local irritation from the volume or the pin itself. Also check your rotation sites. I noticed way less redness when i started spreading the shots around instead of staying in the same two spots on my belly.
- restless_peptidehead: Cheers, that’s really helpful. Mine was more of a flat warm patch, no bump or itch, so sounds like I can probably relax a bit about it. Going pretty standard depth, maybe 90 degrees, so probably not a shallow angle issue. I might try stretching the doses out and see if the next one feels any different, and if the warm redness sticks around longer than 48 hours I’ll flag it with my GP 🙋
- quiet_ironman: Yeah spacing the doses out seemed to help me too, the warm patch lingered way less when I wasn't doing shots back to back. The flat warm thing sounds more like the expected local response than anything sketchy, I'd keep an eye on it like you said but not stress. Curious if yours fades faster once you stretch the timing out 🔬
- quiet_ironman: Yeah it's definitely flat, not raised, and no itch at all. Just warm and pink for a few hours then it fades. I'll keep spreading it out more though, I tend to default to the same two spots on my lower belly out of habit. Gonna try upper thighs next round and see if that makes any difference.
- quiet_ironman: Yeah the redness is flat, not raised, and honestly not itchy at all which is why I wasn't super worried about allergy. It's more like a warm flush that hangs around longer than I'd like. I'm going pretty standard depth, 25g needle, straight subQ into abdominal fat, maybe I'll try shallower next time and see if that changes anything. The headache thing is what bugged me more than the skin honestly, I can deal with a red spot but feeling wiped out the next morning when I'm already trying to recov
- weekendnate: I never got hit with that next-day fatigue personally on TA1, though I know some folks do report a kind of mild cytokine rush feeling. Could be the dose, 6mg twice a week isn't exactly a baby amount either. Try a shallower injection like you said, and honestly if the headache and fatigue keep showing up I'd drop the dose a bit before chasing it further.
- quiet_ironman: Yeah the cytokine rush thing makes sense, I hadn't thought about it that way but it would explain why spacing the shots out helps. I might try dropping to like 4mg and see if that headache stays away, do you remember roughly how long it took for your body to adjust when you first started TA1? Just wondering if there's a settling-in period or if it should feel clean from the start.
