CagriSema vs tirz, anyone tried both back to back?

I ran tirz for about 5 months and got to a solid place, then took a break and the weight slowly crept back, classic rebound stuff. Food noise came back within a few weeks too, which honestly surprised me 🥲

Now I'm seriously considering CagriSema for round two since the amylin plus GLP-1 combo supposedly hits appetite from two angles. The 20 to 25 percent weight loss numbers are obviously the headline grabber, but I'm trying to be realistic about it.

For anyone who has actually tried both, how did the appetite suppression compare day to day? Tirz killed my cravings pretty cleanly but I never felt full, just kind of neutral about food. Curious if the amylin piece changes that satiety feeling.

Also wondering about side effects, since nausea was already a thing for me on tirz during dose increases. Anyone see worse GI stuff on CagriSema or is it pretty similar?

Not asking for dosing for me personally, just general impressions. My current plan is to discuss with my doc and look at labs before starting anything new.

  • runner_aaron: Tirz was the same for me, food just became this neutral thing rather than something I actually wanted. Cravings died but I never got that "I just ate and I'm satisfied" feeling either, so I get what you're saying. Haven't run CagriSema yet so can't compare directly tbh, but the amylin mechanism does interest me because satiety and appetite suppression aren't really the same thing. Amylin is supposed to work more on the actual fullness signal from the meal, so in theory it should hit that gap yo
  • tiredmira: Yeah that satiety vs suppression distinction is exactly what I'm hoping cagrisema addresses. If it actually gives me the "I'm done" feeling instead of just muting cravings that would be a real quality of life thing. On GI, I shouldn't assume dual mechanism = gentler. Might actually be worse since amylin slows gastric emptying too on top of the GLP-1 piece. Worth asking around more before I commit 😅
  • weekendnate: Yeah that satiety vs suppression distinction is exactly what I'm curious about too. Tirz killed the "I want food" but I never got the "I'm done" signal, and CagriSema in theory hits that second part. My main worry is just stacking two mechanisms and getting the worst GI profile of both worlds. We'll see I guess.
  • tiredmira: Honestly the GI worry is the thing holding me back too. Tirz nausea was manageable for me because it was basically tied to dose steps, so I'd settle after a week or so and then titrate up again. The unknown is whether cagrilintide adds a separate nausea layer that doesn't follow the same pattern, since amylin acts on different pathways than GLP-1s. Did your tirz nausea also stick around between doses or was it strictly a step-up thing for you?
