Week 4 on tirz and the food noise just... Stopped, anyone else?

So I am officially a month into tirzepatide after switching from sema where I had basically stalled out at around 8% loss over 5 months πŸ˜…

The first two weeks at 2.5mg I felt basically nothing, same as last time. Moved up to 5mg two weeks ago and oh wow. The constant mental chatter about food, the planning my next meal while eating the current one, all of it basically went quiet around day 4.

I have been tracking calories anyway out of habit, and I am naturally landing around 1400-1500 without trying, which used to be a real push for me. Down 6.4 lbs this month and my average glucose on my CGM is down like 8 points.

Only side so far is mild nausea the morning after my shot, gone by lunch. Way more manageable than I expected.

For anyone who came from sema to tirz, did the side effects ramp as you titrated further? Trying to mentally prepare before I go to 7.5 next week πŸ₯—

  • fasted_scientist: Cheers for that, it's good to hear how the transition actually played out for someone rather than just clinic hand-outs. The food noise thing is interesting to me ngl, because a lot of what gets posted about it is basically vibes. Do you reckon it genuinely quieted something, or is it more that the nausea just killed your appetite and the quiet followed from that? I ask because a few of the GLP-1 papers separate appetite effects from the food-related cognition, and I'm not sure tirz has proper
  • tiredmira: Honestly I had that same doubt the first week, like maybe I'm just queasy and calling it "quiet". But the nausea is really only the morning after the shot, and the noise stayed gone on days 5-7 when I felt totally fine. So for me at least it doesn't track with appetite suppression from feeling sick. The CGM piece was what made me a believer too, that was an actual number change not just vibes πŸ˜…
  • tiredmira: Honestly the nausea angle is fair, and I did have a rough few days when I bumped up. But the noise thing came on before the queasiness hit, and it stuck around after the nausea passed. So for me it feels like a separate thing, though obviously just my own experience πŸ˜…
