Examine put out a research breakdown on BPC-157 that goes through the actual studies instead of just hype. The angiogenesis data in the chick embryo model was wild to read, like a 129% bump in blood vessel growth at really tiny doses. They also walk through tendon, gut, and the nitric oxide angle without trying to sell you anything.

What I appreciated is they don't pretend the animal data = human results. Ngl that part matters to me, because I've been running BPC-157 around my Achilles issue and I want to know what I'm actually working with. The rodent tendon studies look promising but translation to humans is still fuzzy. Also no mention of long term safety in humans, which is kind of a big deal when people run cycles for months.

Anyone else cross referenced Examine with USADA's writeup on it? Curious how ppl weigh the mechanistic promise vs the lack of human trials when deciding what to run.

  • runner_aaron: Yeah saw that one. The chick embryo stuff is cool on paper but you're right, it's a long way from a sore Achilles in a human. I ran oral BPC for about 8 weeks on a proximal biceps tendon that wouldn't settle. Could've been the peptide, could've been the deload I did at the same time, hard to say tbh. Felt like it helped in weeks 3-5 then nothing past that, which I'm guessing is the same story most people get with stubborn tendons. The USADA writeup is worth reading. They basically frame it as

Hard to argue with "promising but unproven" when you've been on the stuff for months and the tendon still has good days and bad days. Curious did you notice anything on the deload side, like was it a proper one or just backing off slightly? I keep wondering if my own loading programme is doing more than the peptide and I just want the credit to go somewhere lol.
  • grinder265: I basically did a structured deload, not just winging it. Dropped my weekly mileage by like 40% for two weeks and kept the intensity genuinely low, easy trails only. Added in some eccentric heel raises to keep some load on the tendon without beating it up. My physio was calling the shots on volume though, not me just guessing. Ngl, I suspect the deload did a lot of the heavy lifting for your biceps too. It's so hard to isolate the peptide when you're actually adjusting your training. Did you stick to a specific dose for the oral stuff, or were you ramping it up as you went?
