Trying oral Dihexa for focus – first week notes and questions

Hey folks, I decided to give oral Dihexa a go after reading about its synaptogenesis claims. I started with 10 mg every morning on an empty stomach, just to see how my body reacts. Day one felt pretty normal, maybe a tad more alert during my morning writing session but nothing dramatic.

By day three I noticed I could stay on task a bit longer when editing articles, less of the usual mid‑morning fog. However, on day five I had a mild headache in the afternoon and found it harder to wind down at night, so I skipped the dose that evening. Day six I went back to 10 mg and the headache didn’t return, but I felt a little jittery after my coffee.

I’m wondering if anyone else has tried a similar low dose and noticed overstimulation or sleep changes? Also, should I consider taking it every other day instead of daily to see if the effects smooth out? Would love to hear your logs or any tips on stacking it with something mild like Selank for anxiety balance.

  • fasted_scientist: Ngl, I reckon you might be overestimating the focus and just feeling the coffee more. Dihexa is a bit of a wild card and the evidence for it in humans is pretty thin compared to the animal data. For me, whenever I tried something similar, the sleep disruption was the first thing to hit. I would be careful about stacking it with Selank until you know if the jitters are from the compound or just your caffeine intake. If I were you, I would try the every other day approach to see if the headaches
  • tiredmira: Hey, I tried oral Dihexa at 10 mg too and felt a bit sharper in the mornings, but by day four I got a mild headache and trouble sleeping. Cutting to every other day helped the headache fade and sleep improved a bit.
  • elle_z: Wait, you got the headache on day four too? That's so weird that we both hit a wall around the same time 😅. I'm definitely going to try that every other day schedule now since you said your sleep improved. Do you think the timing of the dose matters, or did you just stick to the morning? I'll let you know if the jitteriness goes away with the break.
  • elle_z: Fair point about the coffee, maybe it is just making the caffeine hit harder. But the focus felt different from just a buzz, more like I could actually stick to one task without drifting. I'll definitely try the every other day thing to see if the sleep stays steady. I haven't even touched Selank yet, just the Dihexa, so it's just the two of them for now 😅. Do you think the sleep issues usually clear up after a few weeks?
