Ipamorelin at night – does it actually improve sleep or just make you ravenous?

I’ve been trying ipamorelin 200mcg roughly half an hour before lights out for the past two weeks. On the nights I remember to take it I seem to drift off a bit easier and wake up feeling less groggy, but I also notice a pretty strong urge to raid the fridge around 2‑3am. It’s hard to tell if the sleep improvement is real or just because I’m more relaxed knowing I’ve taken something.
I’ve read that ipamorelin is supposed to be less hungry‑inducing than GHRP‑6, but my own experience feels opposite. Has anyone else tracked their sleep quality with a wearable or app while using it? Did you see any measurable change in deep sleep or just a placebo vibe?
Also, did you adjust the dose or timing to curb the midnight hunger? Would love to hear what you folks found, especially if you have any data to share.

- tiredmira: I tried ipamorelin 200mcg about 45 min before bed for three weeks and tracked it with my Oura ring. On nights I took it I saw a small bump in deep sleep – maybe 5‑10 % more – but it wasn’t dramatic and could easily be placebo. The midnight hunger hit hard too; I’d wake up craving carbs around 2 am. I experimented with moving the dose to earlier in the evening (around 8 pm) and cutting it to 100mcg, which eased the cravings a bit while keeping the mild sleep benefit. Basically, the sleep effect
- weekendnate: I ran ipamorelin 150mcg at 9 pm for ten nights and logged with my Whoop. Deep sleep crept up ~4 % but the 2‑am snack attacks were real; dropping to 100mcg at 8 pm cut the cravings without losing the slight sleep bump.
- fasted_scientist: That 4 percent bump on the Whoop is interesting, but ngl it sounds like it could still be a bit of a placebo effect. I reckon my 200mcg dose might be too high if you found 100mcg did the trick for the cravings. I am quite keen to see if dropping the dose helps me stop raiding the fridge at 3am. Did you notice any difference in how you felt the next morning when you lowered the dose?
- quiet_ironman: Hey tiredmira, I’ve tried 200mcg at 9 pm and got that same carb craving around 2 am, but cutting to 100mcg and moving it to 8 pm helped a lot while still feeling a bit calmer at night. 🔬
- fasted_scientist: Ngl, I reckon moving it back to 8 pm might be the shout. I have been doing it right before bed, so that timing difference could be why you avoided the 2 am cravings. I am still a bit skeptical if the sleep benefit is actually happening or if it is just a vibe, but I might try dropping to 100mcg for a week to see if the hunger dies down. Did you notice any dip in the recovery side when you halved the dose?
- fasted_scientist: That 5 to 10 percent bump on the Oura ring is interesting, ngl. I reckon it is still quite small and could just be a fluke, but it is more than I have. I am still at 200mcg and that 2am carb craving is spot on. I might try dropping to 100mcg like you did to see if the hunger settles. Do you think moving it to 8pm affected when you actually fell asleep?
- tiredmira: Yeah moving the dose earlier is probably the move, the ghrelin bump seems to wear off for me after a few hours too. At 100mcg I didn't really notice a difference in sleep or recovery, but my subjective sleep was already kinda fuzzy to begin with 😅
