Injection site irritation and unexpected heart rate spikes with SLU-PP-332

I’ve been running a low‑dose SLU‑PP‑332 protocol for about six weeks now, mostly 5 mg every other day subcutaneously in the abdomen because the oral form isn’t available locally, and I’ve noticed two things that gave me pause. First, after each injection the site turns a bit red and feels slightly tender for a few hours, more than the usual pin‑prick soreness I get with BPC‑157, and on the third or fourth dose the redness seemed to linger longer, almost like a mild dermatitis that fades after a day. I tried rotating spots and using a tiny amount of sterile saline to flush the needle, which helped a little but didn’t fully stop the irritation.
Second, I’ve been tracking my resting heart rate and, surprisingly, it creeps up by 5‑7 beats per minute on the days I inject, even though I don’t feel any palpitations or anxiety. I haven’t changed any other supplements or training load, so I’m wondering if the ERR activation could be affecting autonomic tone or if it’s just a coincidence. Has anyone else seen similar injection‑site or heart‑rate effects, and are there any tweaks (different site, slower injection, lower dose) that seemed to mitigate them? Any lab work suggestions to monitor safety would also be appreciated.

- megan_g: i felt something similar a while back with a different peptide that was a bit more irritating than bpc‑157. for me the redness really calmed down when i switched to a more lateral thigh spot and let the needle sit for a few seconds before pulling out, so the pressure release seemed to help. i also tried cutting the dose to 3 mg every other day and the slight heart‑rate bump dropped to 2‑3 bpm, which was barely noticeable. just a heads‑up to keep an eye on your resting hr and maybe do a quick fa
- elle_z: Thanks Megan, that’s really helpful. I’ll try a thigh spot and pause a sec before pulling the needle – makes sense for pressure release. I also might drop to 3 mg for a week to see if the HR spikes settle. Do you track the irritation duration anywhere specific? 😊
- casey613: I don’t have a formal log, I just note the day in my habit tracker when the redness lasts past the usual 2‑3 hours – on weeks three and four it was about a full day, on week five it dropped back to a few hours after I started flushing with a bit more saline. I’ll start jotting the exact hours next time so you can compare. If the thigh feels better and the 3 mg drop smooths the HR, let me know how it goes.
- casey613: Thanks for the tip, megan_g – I’ll try the lateral thigh and the pause‑out trick, that might ease the redness. I actually dropped the dose to 4 mg for a couple of days after the heart‑rate jump and saw it dip a bit, so I’m curious if the 3 mg you used would be enough for the effect I’m after. I’ll also add a monthly fasting glucose/electrolyte panel as you suggested.
