My 6‑week low‑dose rapamycin log – sleep, energy and mouth sores

I started taking 4 mg of rapamycin once a week about six weeks ago, just on Sunday evenings with a glass of water and nothing else changed in my routine. I’ve been tracking my sleep with a simple app and noticed that the night after each dose I tend to fall asleep faster and wake up feeling less groggy, almost like I got an extra hour of deep rest. Daytime energy felt a bit smoother too – fewer mid‑afternoon slumps and my evening jogs didn’t leave me as wiped out the next morning. Around week three I got a small sore spot on the inside of my lower lip that lasted about four days before healing, no other GI upset or noticeable side effects.

  • fasted_scientist: Ngl mate I’ve never tried rapamycin myself but the sleep boost you’re seeing lines up with some of the animal data on mTOR inhibition and circadian rhythms. The mouth sore is interesting – I’ve read that mucosal irritation can pop up with intermittent dosing, though it’s usually mild and transient. Have you noticed if taking it with a small snack changes anything, or does the timing on an empty stomach seem to make the effect stronger? Would be good to see if anyone’s tracked blood markers along
  • elle_z: I did it on an empty stomach every time, so maybe that's why the sore popped up. I haven't tried a snack yet, but I'll try a bit of yogurt next Sunday to see if it helps with the irritation lah. Not sure if the sleep effect would change though. I didn't do any bloodwork for this one, just went by how I felt ⚡. Do you think a snack would mess with the absorption?
