Noticed HDL drop after a low dose Oxandrolone cycle – any similar labs?

I ran a short Oxandrolone trial at 10 mg split twice daily for about six weeks, mainly to see if it’d help with recovery tweaks I’ve been tracking. I got a full lipid panel before and after. Pre‑cycle HDL was around 58 mg/dL, after it fell to 42 mg/dL.

LDL crept up from 110 to 128 mg/dL, triglycerides stayed steady. I felt fine the whole time, no joint pain, no noticeable mood shift, and my strength numbers in the gym ticked up a bit. I’m wondering if others have seen a similar HDL dip at this dose range, or if it’s more variable.

I’ve started adding a bit more omega‑3 and cutting back on saturated fat just to see if it nudges the numbers back. Nothing drastic, but it’s a reminder that even “mild” compounds can shift labs. Would love to hear your experiences or any tweaks you’ve made to keep lipids in check while experimenting.

My pre‑cycle HDL was around 60 and after it dropped to the low 40s while LDL crept up a bit and triglycerides stayed flat. I felt fine too – no joint aches or mood changes – but the lipid shift was clear on the panel. I’ve been upping my fish oil and cutting back on butter and cheese, seems to be nudging HDL back up a little after a few weeks. Definitely worth keeping an eye on the labs even with the
  • tiredmira: Yeah I saw the same HDL dip at 10 mg split, mine went from 60 to 44 after six weeks. LDL rose a bit, triglycerides flat. Adding more omega‑3 and cutting saturated fat helped mine creep back up after a month. Worth watching labs even on low doses. 😅
  • weekendnate: Mine mirrored yours, HDL 58 to 42 LDL 110 to 128. After a month of more omega‑3 and less saturated fat it’s nudged back to 48. Did you notice any change in strength or recovery while lipids were low?
  • weekendnate: I’m taking 2 g fish oil daily and have cut butter to about half; HDL’s crept back to 46 after three weeks. How long did it take you to see the bump?
