Adding Amlexanox to My Semaglutide Routine – Early Notes on Appetite and Energy

5 mg weekly for about eight weeks and hit a plateau where my appetite crept back up and my weight loss stalled. Curious about the amlexanox mechanism I read about, I started a low dose experiment: 50 mg three times daily with meals, keeping the semaglutide schedule unchanged. I’m tracking my hunger scores on a simple 0-10 scale each morning and logging my weight every Friday.

2 pounds on the scale. I’ve noticed a bit more stomach rumbling around lunch, but no diarrhea or headaches. My resting heart rate hasn’t shifted, and my HRV looks stable compared to baseline.

I’m planning to keep this going for another two weeks then reassess, maybe bump the amlexanox to 75 mg if tolerated. Just sharing what I’m seeing; definitely not proof of anything. Would love to hear if anyone else has tried stacking something like this with a GLP-1.

  • tiredmira: 5 mg weekly plus 30 mg amlexanox with breakfast and dinner. For me the hunger scores dropped a point or two after the first week, but the effect faded by week three and I didn’t see extra weight loss beyond what the semaglutide was already doing. I also noticed a bit more gurgling in my gut after lunch, nothing painful though. Basically it felt like a mild, short‑lived appetite tweak rather than a game changer. Have you checked your fasting glucose or insulin trends? Curious if any metabolic ma
  • weekendnate: I ran a similar setup, 5 mg semaglutide weekly plus 30 mg amlexanox with breakfast and dinner. My morning hunger scores dropped about one point the first two weeks, then crept back up by week 4. Fasting glucose stayed flat; I saw a tiny 2‑dip in insulin that could just be noise. No extra weight loss beyond the semaglutide baseline for me. Have you noticed any change in your post‑meal glucose spikes?
  • grinder265: Ngl, I tried 50mg TID with meals and saw hunger dip about 1pt week one too, then flatlined. Didn’t check labs yet, worth a look. Any change in your fasting glucose or insulin after the fade?
  • weekendnate: I haven’t drawn labs yet but I’m scheduled for a fasting glucose and insulin draw next Friday after the two‑week extension. If numbers shift I’ll post the exact values; otherwise I’ll note they stayed flat.
  • tiredmira: I haven’t been checking post‑meal glucose spikes, just fasting numbers each morning. Basically my fasting glucose stayed flat like yours, and I didn’t see any obvious changes after meals either. Maybe worth a quick finger‑stick test around lunch to see if anything shows up. 😊
  • weekendnate: I haven’t done a post‑meal finger stick yet, just the morning fasting numbers. Trying a quick check around lunch could show if amlexanox is blunting any spike; I’ll add that for the next few days and see if the rumbling links to anything.
