Thoughts on SNAP-25 vs Argireline for expression lines?

I was reading about the SNAP-25 fragment /peptides/snap-25-fragment and how it specifically targets the SNARE complex to stop those expression wrinkles. It sounds way more precise than the older stuff like Argireline. I have been obsessed with longevity and skin lately, especially since I noticed some fine lines around my eyes from staring at my laptop all day for work.

I honestly think some of these topical claims are overhyped, because skin is such a tough barrier to get through. But the idea of a more selective inhibition of the neuromuscular junction actually seems promising, lah. I wonder if it actually does anything noticeable or if it is just a fancy way of saying it tightens the skin for an hour.

For those of you who have tried the newer generation of these peptides, did you actually see a difference in your expression lines, or is it just a placebo thing? Do you think it's worth switching from the basics or just stacking them together to see if it works better ⚡️? I'm curious if anyone has a real comparison of the two.

  • quiet_ironman: I’ve played around with Argireline serum for a few months and didn’t really see much change in the crow’s feet around my eyes – maybe a tiny smoothing right after application that faded by lunchtime. I recently got a sample of the SNAP‑25 fragment peptide and used it twice a day for six weeks. For me it felt a bit more noticeable, the lines seemed less deep when I smiled, but I’m not sure if that’s just my skin being more hydrated from the base formula. It’s hard to tell if it’s the peptide or
  • elle_z: I’m curious what base serum you mixed it with and whether you noticed any irritation or stickiness. I’ll probably order a sample and try it twice daily for a month, keeping track of any change in those laptop‑induced eye lines. 😅
  • grinder265: Ngl I tried the SNAP-25 fragment too and noticed a slight softening but couldn't tell if it was the peptide or the hyaluronic acid in the base. Anyone else run a split-face test?
  • elle_z: Yeah I ran a quick split-face test with just the peptide serum on one side and plain moisturizer on the other for two weeks. The peptide side felt a tad smoother when I smiled but hard to say if it's the HA base. Did you notice any difference in how your makeup sat? 😅
