Noticed mild injection site redness after Vilon – normal or worry?

Hey folks, just wanted to share what happened when I tried Vilon for a week. I’m doing subcutaneous shots in the abdomen, 1mg once daily. After the third injection I saw a small red patch about the size of a pea that stayed tender for a day or two, then faded. No fever or systemic symptoms. I rubbed the area with an alcohol swab before each shot and rotated sites, but it still happened once. Tbh it could just be my skin reacting to the peptide or maybe a bit of bacteria from the vial top – I’m not sure. Has anyone else seen similar injection site irritation with Vilon or other short peptides? Should I be worried about infection or is this likely a mild irritation that’ll stop with better technique? I’m planning to get a basic blood panel soon just to check nothing’s off, but would love to hear your experiences and any tips for reducing site reactions. Stay safe.

Yeah I had the same pea‑size red mark after my third Vilon shot, tender for a day then gone. Letting the alcohol dry fully before injecting and moving to a 31G insulin needle made the irritation much less frequent for me. No fever or other issues either.

Thanks for the tip on the dry prep. I was using the wet swabs, so that might be the issue tbh. I'm already using a 31g needle, but I'll see if a finer one helps with the tenderness. Shame that it didn't shift your sleep or appetite trends at all. For me, the red patch was the only real annoyance so far. Do you think the dry prep makes a HUGE difference for the skin reaction?

That is lekke to hear. I might have been rushing the alcohol swab part, so I will let it dry properly now now. I am already using a 31G needle, so that probably is not the issue for me. Tbh it is a relief that the pea size mark is common and not some weird infection. Do you think it was more about the alcohol stinging or just the peptide itself?

Ngl I’ve seen similar pea‑size red spots with a few short peptides like Vilon and even with BPC‑157 when I was still getting used to subcutaneous shots. For me it usually showed up after a couple of days, stayed tender for a day then faded without any fever or other symptoms. I think it’s often just a mild irritation from the peptide itself or a tiny bit of bacteria on the vial top that wasn’t fully killed by the alcohol swipe. Making sure the alcohol dries completely before the needle goes in helped a lot, and I switched to a shorter 31‑gauge insulin needle which seemed to cause less trauma. Rotating sites is good, but I also try to avoid using the exact same spot two days in a row even if it looks fine. If the redness keeps coming back or gets worse, definitely get that blood panel just to rule out anything systemic, but most of the time it’s just a local reaction that settles with cleaner technique. I didn’t feel any change in how the peptide worked – my appetite and sleep trends stayed the same. The only thing that improved was the redness; using a dry alcohol prep and a finer needle made the irritation much less noticeable.
