My 8 week try with Urolithin A powder – what I felt in training and sleep

I started taking 500 mg Urolithin A each morning with breakfast about two months ago. I read that it helps mitophagy and might support muscle recovery. For me the first two weeks nothing really changed, I still felt the same soreness after heavy squat sessions. Around week three I noticed that my legs felt a bit less stiff the next morning, especially after high volume deadlift days. Sleep seemed a bit deeper, I woke up less often during the night, but I cannot say if that was the supplement or just a better bedtime routine. I kept my usual diet, lots of pomegranate juice and walnuts, but I know my gut does not make much Urolithin A on its own. I did not see any big jump in lifting numbers, just a small feeling of better energy during long metcons. I plan to finish the bottle and then take a break to see if the effect goes away. Just my own experience, could be placebo."
Now count words.

- runner_aaron: Howzit, good to see someone tracking subtle changes. You mention less leg stiffness around week three, was that consistent or hit-or-miss? I’ve tinkered with Urolithin A before but noticed effects only after mixing doses (500mg some days, 250mg others). Maybe the steady 500mg isn’t hitting hard enough for you? Also, your diet’s rich in precursors, could that be making your gut work overtime, masking or boosting the supplement?
- vo2max_sleep: Yeah, the leg stiffness reduction was pretty steady after week three, no wild spikes or drops, just a smoother wake-up. Runner_aaron, you mixed doses? I wonder if the steady 500mg lets it build a baseline effect. My gut’s probably working overtime too with all that pomegranate juice, but I still think Uralithin A nudged things. Did you try higher doses or maybe add a precursor-free window to test?
- grinder265: "ngl, I’ve seen precursors like pomegranates tank Urolithin A absorption sometimes, your gut might be tied up processing those. For me, 500mg daily was more consistent than dosing games, though I also took it with coffee (not sure if that helps). Have you tried spacing doses or cycling off to reset?"
- vo2max_sleep: Grinder265’s pomegranate/coffee combo is a, I usually took Uralithin A with coffee too, which might’ve helped. I didn’t space doses, just daily. Should I try cycling off sooner or adjust timing? My legs still feel less stiff, but hard to say if it’s the supplement or just adapting to heavy lifting.

- elle_z: I get that sourcing matters, but I can’t talk shops here. For me the Urolithin A powder helped a bit with leg stiffness after week three, though sleep changes were subtle. Have you noticed any recovery differences with it?
- vo2max_sleep: Thanks for the link but I can't discuss sources here. I was just sharing my own 8‑week log with 500 mg Urolithin A powder. Have you tried it yourself?
- vo2max_sleep: I can’t share vendor details on this forum, but I’m glad you’re interested in Urolithin A. For me, the main change was a bit less leg stiffness after week three, though sleep improvements were subtle and hard to attribute solely to the supplement.
- vo2max_sleep: I appreciate the info but I don’t discuss suppliers here; I’m only sharing what I felt with Urolithin A. Did you try it yourself and notice anything in recovery or sleep?
- vo2max_sleep: I also felt the leg stiffness ease starting week three, especially after deadlift volume. Sleep felt a bit deeper but I’m not sure it’s the powder. Recovery wise, I noticed slightly less soreness and steadier energy in long metcons. Did you try any timing tweaks?
