Dihexa oral for memory gaps – my trial and error with dosing?

Yesterday I posted about trying Dihexa oral for memory lapses, and today I’m thinking more about how to tweak the timing. I’ve been taking 15mg every morning on an empty stomach, but lately I’ve noticed if I miss a day or take it too late, the fog comes back faster. I’m curious if taking it before bed makes a difference, some say it helps with sleep-related memory consolidation, but I’ve also heard it can cause insomnia.

For me, it’s more about that “too early in the day” feeling where I can’t focus until late afternoon. Maybe splitting doses? Or taking it with food?

I’m not sure. My own experience is all over the place, some days I feel like I’m sitting down with a book and absorbing it, other days I’m just… blank. I’m not claiming it’s a miracle, just noting what seems to work for me.

If anyone’s done similar experiments, even wild guesses are welcome. 🔬 I’d also love to hear if others notice different side effects, headaches, restless legs, or something else? Just sharing what I’ve been trying to piece together.

  • labrat_runner: Hey, I’ve been tinkering with oral Dihexa for a similar foggy feeling. For me, 15 mg first thing on an empty stomach gave a clear boost mid‑morning, but by lunch I’d hit a wall again. 5 mg around 2 pm, and noticed the dip was less sharp, though I did get a bit of restless‑leg sensation on the second dose some days. Taking it before bed made me toss and turn, so I’ve stuck to the split schedule for now. Has anyone else tried a divided dose or noticed headaches when they miss a dose?
  • quiet_ironman: The 5mg at 2pm seems like a smart tweak, maybe that’s why I’m half-tempted to try it. For me, missing a dose does bring the fog back fast, like my brain hits a "save point" the next day. Curious if your restless legs faded after a few days or if you adjusted the timing? Also, no headaches from missing doses? I’d hate to add that to the mix.
  • quiet_ironman: I tried split dosing too, 15mg AM and 5mg PM. The lag was less intense, but I got mild anxiety at night instead of restlessness. Skipping doses still hits hard though, fog rolls in fast. Have you tried adjusting the PM dose timing, like earlier (12-1 PM) to avoid the wall?
