Curious about Ca-AKG for aging markers – anyone tried it?

Hey folks, I’ve been reading about calcium alpha-ketoglutarate (Ca-AKG) and how it’s supposed to help with biological aging markers. I’m pretty new to all this and I tend to want to see some kind of data before I try anything, so I’m wondering if anyone here has actually used it and noticed anything like better sleep, skin changes, or just feeling more energetic. I know the typical dose is around 1-3 grams a day split into one or two servings, but I’m not looking for a personal prescription – just curious about real world experiences.
For me I’d probably start low and maybe track some basic labs like CRP or fasting glucose to see if anything shifts. Would love to hear what you’ve observed, even if it’s just “seemed to help a bit” or “nothing noticeable”. Thanks!

- reads_mito: I’ve actually tried ca-akg a few years back when i was looking at ways to keep my metabolism in check. I took about 1 gram twice a day, split with meals, and logged my sleep and energy levels. For me it felt a touch steadier on the first week, like not that sudden crash after lunch. I didn’t notice any big changes in skin or a big lift in energy after a month though. I did keep an eye on my fasting glucose and CRP, and they stayed pretty much the same – nothing dramatic. If you’re tracking labs
- casey613: I’ve been on Ca‑AKG at a similar 1 g twice a day for a couple of months too. My energy felt a bit steadier after meals, but no big skin or lift in energy. I did notice a mild drop in post‑workout soreness, though. Has anyone else seen any muscle‑recovery benefit?
- optimizedemma: The steady energy after meals lines up with what I’ve read about Ca-AKG’s energy support. I haven’t tracked CRP or glucose specifically yet, but I’m considering it. Did you notice any other subtle shifts, like in digestion or mood? Curious if the muscle recovery fits with others’ experiences.
- optimizedemma: Thanks for the heads‑up, reads_mito. I’ll start with 1 g twice a day and log sleep, energy, and a weekly fasting glucose/CRP. You mentioned stability after the first week, did you notice any lingering steadiness after that? Also, did you use any particular app or spreadsheet grouping the data?
