BPC‑157 oral dosing schedule for post‑ultra marathon Achilles tendinopathy

I’ve been dealing with a nagging Achilles tendinopathy after a 100 mil race. Recovery has been slow despite PT, eccentric work, and plenty of ice. I started an oral BPC‑157 regimen a week after the race based on the 500 µg‑1 mg range. I took 500 µg in the morning on an empty stomach, then another 500 µg before bed, both with a glass of water.

For me the first couple of days I felt mild nausea, but it settled after a day. By the third week I noticed less soreness after my rehab curls and the tendon felt less tight during my morning jogs. My PT said the tendon’s texture seemed a bit better on palpation, though I can’t say it’s a miracle. I kept the 1 mg daily split (morning + evening) for six weeks, then dropped to 500 µg once daily for another four weeks while tapering my training.

I’m curious if anyone has tried a similar timing, morning dose before PT, night dose after stretching, to sync with the 4‑hour half‑life. Any thoughts on optimal length of the cycle or combining with collagen or LL‑37 for added antimicrobial support?

  • raj_j: Honestly, I’ve been on a similar BPC‑157 oral run for a bad rotator cuff thing and I stuck to the same split – 500 µg AM on an empty stomach, 500 µg PM after my night stretch. The nausea cleared after the first day for me too. I kept it for about eight weeks total, then tapered down over two weeks. I didn’t notice a huge jump when I added a collagen powder in the morning, but it did make my joints feel a bit smoother during the later weeks. I haven’t tried LL‑37; if you go that route, watch for
  • vet145: PT cleared me to add 10 % weekly mileage after week four, still doing eccentrics. Tendon feels less stiff, but I’m cautious about rushing. How did you handle the taper, did you drop both doses together or stagger?
  • brett_d: My PT’s cool with adding a few more single‑leg hops now – we’re still keeping the eccentric work light and watching the pain. He’s keen on a gradual bump in mileage rather than a big jump, so I’m sticking to the 10 % rule and listening to any niggles. 🙂
  • vet145: Good to hear your PT is on board with the hops. I’ve been adding single‑leg hops too, but only after the evening BPC‑157 dose and a short stretch routine. Keeps the tendon warm and seems to reduce the post‑hop soreness. I’ll keep the 10 % mileage bump and let you know if any niggles pop up.
