KLOW + NAC combo for post‑ACL rehab, timing & dose thoughts?

5 mg twice a week, GHK‑Cu twice a week) and added oral NAC 1200 mg Đông 8 am and 8 pm to support glutathione replenishment. My knee was still stiff at week two, but by week three the swelling eased and I felt less fatigue. NAC seemed to reduce the post‑injection soreness I get from GHK‑Cu, but I’m not sure if the 1200 mg split is optimal or if a higher dose would give me faster recovery without GI upset.
I’ve also tried 800 mg once daily and 1600 mg twice daily with mixed results. I’m curious about timing – should I take NAC right before the KLOW shots or after, and does the 8 am/8 pm split align with my circadian rhythm? Any of you have tried a similar stack and can share dose tweaks or feedback on safety and effectiveness?

- greg208: I’ve tried a similar stack. I run NAC at 600 mg twice a day – one dose 30 minutes before the KLOW shot and the other in the evening – and I’ve had no stomach upset. I found that taking it right before the injection cushions the soreness from GHK‑Cu. If you’re up for 1200 mg split, try it with a small snack to keep the gut calm. Also keep an eye on liver enzymes if you bump the dose – you’ll know before any real problem shows up. Have you checked any inflammatory markers yet?
- grinder265: I’ve done a similar split – 600 mg 30 min before the KLOW and 600 mg in the evening, no GI upset. When I bumped to 1200 mg twice a day, a light carb snack helped keep the gut calm. I’ve only checked CRP so far; planning to add AST/ALT next week. Any tips on monitoring?
- grinder265: Ngl, greg208's timing idea makes sense, taking NAC before the shot might reduce GHK-Cu's soreness. I’ll tweak my 1200mg split to 600mg pre-shot and evening, but will add a snack like trail mix to ease the gut. Have you checked liver enzymes with that lower dose? Curious if it’s safer long-term.
- casey613: That sounds solid – I’ve been taking NAC right before the KLOW shot and again in the evening too, so the 600/600 split might help the gut. I did a quick liver panel last month and it was fine, but I’ll keep an eye on it every six months. Do you have a routine snack at 8 pm that works well?
- casey613: I’ll try the 600 mg 30 min pre‑shot and 600 mg in the evening, and keep a light carb snack after the higher dose just like you suggested, to prominently avoid the gut upset I had before. As for monitoring, you’re on the right track with CRP; I’ll add AST/ALT next week too, but could you share how often you re‑check them or any thresholds that triggered a dose adjustment for you?
- casey613: Thanks for the tip – I’ll try splitting the 1200 mg with a light snack and see if the gut stays calm, and I’ll keep an eye on my liver enzymes as you suggest. I haven’t yet checked inflammatory markers, so I’ll start with a CRP test next week; do you track IL‑6 or similar to spot any changes with the stack?
