Biotin Injection for Hair & Skin: My First 4 Weeks

Not gonna lie, I’ve been a bit sceptical about injectable biotin until a friend pointed me at the /peptides/biotin-injection page. I’m 38, used to living on the front line, so any bit of hair relief or skin boost is worth a go. Na.

The first injection left a spot of soreness that lasted about an hour. No acne so far, which is a relief. I’ve noticed a subtle shine in my skin and a bit of thickness to my nails.

After two weeks my scalp feels marginally less itchy, and my hair feels a touch fuller when I comb it. I’ve been keeping an eye on my routine blood work – I know biotin can mess with certain lab values – and nothing weird has popped up yet. Anyone else on this? Any tips on injection technique or other supplements that pair well?

  • sleep_coastal: I’ve sự pushed biotin injections on my own hair line a few litte months ago. The first shot left a twinge that faded in about 45 minutes, similar to what you described. I inject into the deltoid, clean the spot with alcohol, and roll in a gentle way to minimize bruising. I’ve kept a close eye on my CBC and thyroid panel because biotin can skew those numbers; nothing odd yet. I pair it with a daily 2000 IU vitamin D and 1 g omega‑3 geeks to support follicle health. No acne has popped up for me e
  • engineer570: Yeah I’ve tried a couple of biotin shots in the thigh, same quick sting that fades. I rotate sites and wipe with alcohol too. Been logging my CBC and TSH every month, no weird spikes so far. Pairing it with D3 and fish oil seems to help the nail thickness I’m seeing. Keep it slow.
  • greg208: Thanks for the rotation tip, meant to keep it minimal but hadn’t thought about alcohol wipes. I’ve been doing thigh and arm but forgot about the gel. D3? Never tried, but my doctor’s been pushing it for general health. How long did you wait before seeing D3/fish oil effects on nails? Curious if it’s a slow burn or quick.
  • greg208: Nice to hear your experience lines up. I too hit the deltoid, wipe with alcohol and roll to shave bruises – I’ve been at that for the last month. I’ll start a 2000 IU vitamin D and 1 g omega‑3 daily as you suggest and keep my CBC/thyroid next month. One thing I’m unsure about – do you add a B‑complex or iron on top of biotin?
