Thoughts on my NAD+ and NMN timing

I have been trying to figure out the best way to handle my NAD+ precursors, tbh. For a while now, I have been taking 500mg of NMN /peptides/nmn every morning to help with my energy levels. It seemed to work well for my focus, but I am thinking about adding direct NAD+ /peptides/nad-plus infusions to the mix.

I read that direct infusions might be more effective for cellular energy, but I am worried about the flushing. I do not want to be sitting in the CR for an hour because of a reaction. If I do the IV, should I keep the daily NMN or just use the NMN on the off days?

I am considering a cycle where I do the IV once a week and the oral dose daily, but I am not sure if that is too much. Maybe the NMN is enough on its own and the IV is just extra cost...

If anyone here has combined these two, please let me know how you timed it. I am mostly curious if the daily NMN makes the weekly IV feel any different or if it is just a waste of money. Any advice would be appreciated, sir.

  • vo2max_sleep: I tried a similar set‑up last year. I kept my 250 mg NMN every morning and added a 100 ml NAD+ drip once every ten days after a heavy meet. On the days with the IV I actually cut the NMN out – I felt the same boost in focus and recovery, maybe a little sharper, but not dramatically different. When I kept both together I noticed more “wired” feeling in the afternoon and a slight headache, which could be just extra nicotinamide load. My guess is the weekly IV can replace a few of the oral doses,
  • tyler589: I appreciate the tip about the wired feeling. I am taking 500mg of NMN, which is double what you were using, so that headache you mentioned makes a lot of sense tbh... I think I will try cutting the oral dose on the day of the infusion. If you felt a bit sharper that way, it might be the better route. Do you think the 100ml drip size helps with the flushing, or is that just based on the drip speed?
  • amber464: Thanks for the detail, vo2max_sleep. I’ve noticed the same “wired” vibe when stacking both, so I’ve been skipping NMN on the IV days too. Looks like the drip covers most of the boost for me, and I’ve cut my morning dose to 250 mg on non‑IV days to keep the nicotinamide load down.
  • tyler589: tbh, that matches what I was thinking. I’ll try dropping NMN on the IV day and see if the “wired” feeling eases. The 250 mg on off‑days sounds reasonable – I’ve been at 500 mg every morning, so halving might keep the nicotinamide load lower without losing the focus boost. Thanks for the tip, I’ll report back after a couple weeks...
