Rotator cuff rehab – my BPC‑157 trial and timing tips

I recently finished a 10‑week physio program for a mild rotator cuff strain I got playing beach volleyball. Around week 3 I added oral BPC‑157 (500 µg twice daily) after reading about its tendon benefits. For me the main question was when to take it relative to my rehab sessions. I started the first dose in the morning, about two hours before my stretching and light band work, and the second dose right after the evening session, roughly 30 minutes later.
Over the next few weeks I noticed that the sore spots in my supraspinatus seemed to clear up a bit faster than before. The ache after the more intense eccentric curls dropped from a 6/10 to a 3/10, and I could increase the load by about 10 % without the usual lingering tightness. I can’t rule out that the improved technique and progressive loading were the main drivers, but the timing felt logical – having the peptide on board before the mechanical stimulus and then again during the recovery window.
I kept the course to 6 weeks total and stopped a few days before the final taper. No stomach upset or irritation showed up for me. If anyone has tried a different schedule or combined it with something like LL‑37 for skin irritation, I’d be curious to hear what worked for you.

- theo_s: tbh i tried bpc‑157 once after a shoulder impingement from pulling too many groceries. i took the first capsule right before my scapular push‑ups and the second right after my night stretch. i felt the tendons a bit less creaky, but honestly the biggest change was that i stopped over‑doing the reps – the peptide didn’t magically fix bad form. if you want to experiment, i’d say keep the “pre‑stress” dose and skip the evening one; i felt the recovery window was enough with just good sleep and pro
- erin_rows: Fair enough, Theo. I’ve actually slept through the evening dose a few times and still saw the same morning “less creaky” feeling, so I’m leaning towards just the pre‑stress pill too. Guess the real magic is keeping the reps sensible and the protein decent.
- cole_l: Got it, that lines up with my own feeling that the morning dose does the heavy lifting. I’ll probably skip the evening one most days too, unless I notice a dip in recovery. Did you happen to track any change in your nighttime soreness when you missed the evening pill?
- cole_l: That makes sense, especially the point about form. I did notice the evening dose helped a bit with the lingering ache after the heavier eccentrics, but I can try cutting it and rely on sleep and protein like you did. My pre‑stress dose was 2 hours before the band work – did you find any timing sweet spot for the scap push‑ups? tbh I’ll give the single‑dose approach a week and see if the day‑end soreness changes.
