Tried GlyNAC for Energy Boost – What I’ve Noticed

Not gonna lie, I started GlyNAC a few months back after reading about its role in boosting glutathione and mitochondrial function. I’m 43, used to be a firefighter, now on the couch a lot, so I was keen to give it a go. I split a dose of 100 mg/kg glycine and(factory) 100 mg/kg NAC over two shots each day – about 12 g glycine and 12 g NAC split into morning and evening.

The first week I felt a weird jitter in the right side of my throat the first time I took the shot, but that cleared up. By the third week my sleep was a bit deeper – I fell asleep quicker and woke with less grogginess. I’ve noticed my skin looks less dull and there’s a subtle lift around my eyes – not a miracle, more like a subtle lift, but it’s there.

The GI side effect was mild – a bit of loose stool on the high dose days. I can’t confirm if it’s the GlyNAC or the fresh air, but I’ll keep going and see how long I maintain the improved energy and lighter skin.

  • kayla_s: I’ve been in the same boat, started GlyNAC on the whole idea that it would fire up my mitochondria. For me I stuck to about 6 g each of glycine and NAC, split into two shots a day, so the total was a bit less than yours. The first few doses do give that throat tightness, especially if you’re new to injections, but it usually eases off. I did notice a subtle lift in my skin and a smoother sleep after a month or so, but the effect was much milder than the bigger doses you’re using. That can be be
  • remy_cycles: I tried a similar split dose and also felt that brief throat tightness the first couple of shots. After about three weeks my sleep felt a bit smoother, though I can’t say if it’s the GlyNAC or just a better routine. Did you notice any change in recovery after workouts?
  • greg208: I only got in a few light jogs and bodyweight sessions since the GlyNAC, so it’s a tiny sample. I do feel the aches after a 30‑minute run are a bit less, and I can get back to a second run the next day without that heavy soreness. The throat thing seemed to settle after the first week. Have you tried it with any resistance training, or just cardio?
  • greg208: Not gonna lie, I’ve been feeling that throat jitter a bit too – maybe I did the shots a bit too fast. I’m thinking of spacing the doses by a couple of hours as you suggest and seeing if the loose stool eases up. Your lower dose gave milder lift, so I’ll try cutting back to about 6 g each for a week and then readjust.
