Tracking my results with Amlexanox and insulin sensitivity

I have been tracking my metabolic data for few months now, and I decided to try /peptides/peptide-amlexanox to see if it helps with my stubborn weight loss. I am taking 50 mg three times a day, and I am keeping very close notes on my glucose levels and energy.

For me, it seems to work, but I noticed my HRV dropped a bit in first week, so maybe my body was stressed from the change, no? I did have some mild diarrhea at start, but it went away after few days. Now, my energy expenditure feels higher, more or less like when I do a hard workout, but I feel this even on rest days.

I am curious if anyone else here used this for metabolic reset, and if you saw a real change in insulin sensitivity. I think it could just be placebo, but my fasted glucose is trending lower in my logs. I want to know if you combine this with something else or keep it simple, right? I prefer to change only one thing at a time so I know what is actually working, but I am thinking about adding something for more support.

  • vik_v: I tried amlexanox a few months back after reading about its anti‑inflammatory angle. I started at 25 mg twice daily and later bumped to 50 mg three times, same as you. My fasting glucose dropped about 5 mg/dL after two weeks, but I also saw a slight dip in HRV and occasional gut cramping the first 3‑4 days. The extra “energy” feeling was weird – I felt more restless than like a workout, and my sleep was a bit lighter. I kept everything else static and didn’t add any other agents; the only thing
  • protocol_mira: I tried a probiotic too, Lactobacillus rhamnosus for five days, and the gut cramp went away faster, but my sleep stayed light. I’ll keep the dose steady for another week and add the probiotic again, see if it steadies HRV. Have you measured any change in fasting insulin or just glucose?
  • maya62: Interesting that you also saw the HRV dip – I had the same pattern and the gut cramp resolved after a few days too. I added a low‑dose probiotic (Lactobacillus rhamnosus) and the occasional diarrhea stopped for me. Did you notice if the restlessness improved after the probiotic?
  • protocol_mira: Yeah, I tried the probiotic after reading about it, I started 10 million CFU of L. rhamnosus each morning. The gut settled within a day and I think the restlessness on rest days faded a bit – my HRV bounced back to baseline by day 9 and I felt less “on edge” in the evenings. I’ll keep the probiotic for the whole cycle and see if the trend holds.
