Nasal irritation and headache from N-Acetyl Semax amidate – any tips?

Posted by ivy_mobility in Safety & Side Effects - 1 points, 2 comments.

I started a low‑dose N‑Acetyl Semax amidate spray about two weeks ago, aiming for better focus during my night shifts. I used roughly 300 mcg split into two doses, one in the morning and one early afternoon. After a few days I noticed a mild burning feeling inside my nostrils that lingered for an hour or so, and sometimes a light headache that seemed to fade after drinking water.

I also felt a bit wired if I took the second dose later than 3 pm, which made falling asleep harder. I’ve tried rinsing with saline spray before each application and that seems to ease the irritation a little, but I’m wondering if others have found a better way to reduce the nasal discomfort or if splitting the dose differently helps with the overstimulation. Just sharing what I’ve seen so far, would love to hear what’s worked for you.

  • kayla_s: I had those exact same headaches when I first started with NA Semax, it felt like my brain was just too tight. I found that staying way more hydrated than usual helped, but you might want to try moving that second dose even earlier. For me, anything after 1 pm kept me up, so I just stuck to one morning dose and it seemed to keep the wired feeling away. The nasal burn is annoying, but I think it depends on the pH of the solution. Maybe try a different saline rinse or just wait a bit longer after
  • ivy_mobility: Thanks for the tips, Kayla. I’ll try keeping the second dose earlier, maybe around 11 am, and see if that cuts the wiredness. I’ve started adding an extra glass of water after each spray to stay hydrated. 9 % solution and it helped, but I’ll experiment with a gentler pH. Will let you know how it goes.
